| NSG 4133 International Nursing &Technology Spring 2004

This course focuses upon the use of technology particularly computers in nursing practice, nursing service administration, nursing education and nursing research. Basic computer structures and functions are introduced. Experiences will include the use of microcomputers and mainframe computers, nursing software, clinical computers and hospital information systems. International experiences include the use of technology in nursing compared between USA and another country and examination of relevant persons contributions to the promotion and adaptation of technology. This course was offered for the first time in Spring 1998. During Spring Break 2004, the class went to London and Edinburgh, visiting several nursing and cultural sites. Here are some of the highlights of the class.

After arriving in London, we visited the Florence Nightingale Museum to help us understand her contribution to nursing, recognizing the impact of the age and culture. |

Queen Margaret's University, our host, provided presentations on international nursing and health care. Tours of the nursing skills lab were also given. TU nursing students discussed American & UK nursing and health care. |
