This is the Athletic Training Program at The University of Tulsa.  In addition to the highly structured program of classes and clinical rotations, there are additional features of the athletic training program that we want to make you aware of:

The University of Tulsa competes in Conference USA which includes teams in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina.  Students have the opportunity to travel with TU teams to these universities as well as many others during their field experience.

TU has a very low student to faculty (staff) ratio.  In the university the ratio is 11:1.  For the athletic training program the ratio is about 4:1.  This allows for very individualized attention and learning opportunities.  Most students work one on one with a certified athletic trainer/ACI in the clinical setting.

Athletic Training Students have the opportunity to interact with team physicians daily as they come to the athletic training room to see injured and ill athletes.  Students will also complete a rotation at Eastern Oklahoma Orthopedic Center and have interaction with athletic trainers, physicians, physical therapists, and other allied health care professionals.

Our graduates have been very successful on the BOC, Inc. examination with approximately 60% of students successfully passing all three sections on the first attempt.  This is well above the national average.
