Lean Six Sigma
Green Belt Certification Program

In partnership with
Kevin Clay of Six Sigma Development Solutions, Inc. (SSDSI)
the
University of Tulsa offers a blended learning program, combining live
classroom lectures with interactive web-based modules to deliver
flexible, but thorough Lean Six Sigma Green Belt education. Blended
programs allow companies of all types and sizes to make the best use of
classroom time, reduce training costs and improve student retention of
Lean Six Sigma concepts.
So, what are Lean and Six
Sigma?
Lean
(Enterprise):
-
Focuses on
processes and flow with effective management of inventory and
materials.
-
Emphasizes waste prevention - any
extra time, labor, or material spent that does not add value to
products or services.
Six
Sigma:
-
Is a process that helps develop
and deliver near-perfect products and business processes through the
identification and the reduction or elimination of variation.

Enables you to measure how many
defects you have in a process and systematically determine how to
eliminate them through process definition and analysis.
Lean + Six Sigma:
This high
impact training gives participants hands-on application of Lean Six
Sigma skills and tools. Lean Six Sigma concepts are introduced first
online, and then reinforced through classroom lectures and exercises.
Course Objectives:

Learn the Six Sigma DMAIC Process
and how the varied tools are applied in their organization or
discipline

Strengthen Project management and
Change Management skills

Participate in a Lean Six Sigma
team simulation in class

Be required to use the DMAIC
methodology and tools to complete a Lean Six Sigma project

Successfully complete the Lean
Six Sigma certificaation exam
To
Earn Your Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, participants must:

Successfully complete all 20
eLearning courses (1-2 hours each) and pass the online certification
exam.

Actively participate in 36 hours
of required classroom training during the 13 week course
(interacting with your peers and the instructor).
-
Demonstrate your ability to apply
Six Sigma in your instructor-approved project.

customer service, quality, as well as engineering, production, staff,
line supervisors, and anyone in the organization who will be part of a
Lean Six Sigma process improvement team.

Instructor:
Kevin Clay is a Six Sigma
Master Black Belt and both an Instructor and Consultant in the
University of Arkansas System. Kevin brings over 15 years of operational
experience into the classroom. He has a wide range of Lean Six Sigma
project experience in industries such as manufacturing, food processing,
residential and commercial construction, banking, healthcare, etc. Kevin
has a B.S in Industrial Technology and an M.S. in Manufacturing
Technology and Management from East Carolina University.
