          ASTD HPI Certificate Program

Combo Course:
Human Performance Improvement in the Workplace*
and
Analyzing Human Performance
Earn 3.5 CEUs

This fast-track program will let you complete two of the five courses in the national certificate with international HPI consultant Dennis Mankin—all in one week

You've heard the buzz about HPI. But -- what is HPI? Who invented it? Is it just another fad or is it something revolutionary that I can use to build a high performance organization? In the meantime, what am I supposed to do about this request for training when everyone knows it's a resource issue?

Human Performance Improvement in the Workplace

The HPI process & this foundation course will answer all those questions and probably give you more as the process unfolds. Basically, HPI helps people articulate their business goals and:

bullet

Link the goals to human performance

bullet

Diagnose the current state of performance in the organization

bullet

Find the root causes for performance deficiencies

bullet

Implement solutions

bullet

Evaluate the results of interventions

Learn the three primary principles that underlie HPI, and how this cross-disciplinary curriculum leads to a systematic approach to solving organizational problems.

*This course is a prerequisite for all of the other courses

Analyzing Human Performance

Before you can solve performance problems, you need a systematic approach to get at the real performance gaps and the root causes. ASTD, in partnership with Platinum Performance Group, will introduce you to the new analysis model of Performance DNA.

The Performance DNA Toolkit is a complete, state-of–the-art, flexible set of tools—guides, checklists, and templates—to conduct a comprehensive analysis of human performance for any position. Performance DNA tools were designed to meet the needs of both a newly indoctrinated performance analyst and a seasoned professional. The tools are based heavily on the validated work and processes of pioneers in human performance improvement like Thomas Gilbert, while incorporating decades of real-world execution. Learn to use the tools efficiently through case study and application during the class. Participants

By the end of this course, students are able to:

bullet

Align their analysis with their organization's

bullet

Describe the relationship between key performers and organization outcomes

bullet

Use accomplishment-based terms to describe performance deficiencies

bullet

Reconcile stakeholders' requests for solutions with real organization goals

bullet

Conduct interviews, document reviews, and provide observations to establish the major accomplishments of any job.
